Protest by Wall: theft of 7000 dunams of land
This Friday, February 25, the village of Rafat will protest the theft of 7000 dunams of land behind Israel's Wall.
Several villages from the Salfit region will march to "Jabel al Ezrak" the blue mountain where bulldozers are currently leveling the land to make way for the wall.
They plan to hold Friday prayers on their land where the illegal work is taking place.
The villagers will gather at 9:30am at the Rafat Secondary School and will begin the two and a half kilometer march to the construction sight at 10am.
About 7000 dunams of Rafat agricultural land will become inaccessible to its owners once the wall is built. This will leave the villagers without their major source of food and income.
The wall will thus destroy the villagers traditional way of life which has sustained them for generations.
