Palestinians to protest Kofi Annan's refusal to visit the Wall
[Ramallah, West Bank] The National Committee to Resist the Apartheid Wall has called for a protest Monday against UN Secretary-General Mr. Kofi Annan's refusal to visit the Wall during his brief time in the region. In a press release issued today, the National Committee to Resist the Apartheid Wall states that this refusal "is evidence that the UN is failing to support the legitimate right of the Palestinians to self-determination."
There will be a demonstration leaving from the Manara in the center of Ramallah at 10am Monday. The protest will proceed to the Muqata'a, the presidential compoud, where Mr. Annan will be meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
