TEAR Fund assessing situation in Indonesia
Aid and relief organisation TEAR Fund New Zealand is in contact with its partner agencies in Indonesia, to assess the damage caused by Monday's earthquake.
TEAR Fund is in contact with project staff on Nias Island and in neighboring coastal areas to determine the extent of the damage and an appropriate response.
"Initial reports indicate the scale of destruction is minimal, when compared to the Boxing Day disaster. We will have a clear indication of the situation by the end of the week," says TEAR Fund Executive Director Stephen Tollestrup.
