PSA Strike Ends in Tonga
The Tongan Advisory Council of New Zealand wishes to congratulate the striking workers and the Tongan Government for arriving at a peaceful resolution to the recent industrial dispute.
A special acknowledgement is made to Dr Sitiveni Halapua, who effectively facilitated between the two parties using the ‘talanoa’ method of engagement and mediation.
Acknowledgement is also made to the many community leaders and people in New Zealand, who constructively and actively supported a positive outcome for the people of Tonga.
The Tongan Advisory Council Chairperson, Mr Melino Maka, states that: “Many Tongans in New Zealand are delighted and relieved that the situation has been resolved peacefully and successfully.”
