President Calls on Factions to Respect Elections Outcome
RAMALLAH, - President Mahmoud Abbas called Thursday on all the factions to behave in a responsible manner, adhere to law and order, and to accept the Palestinian people's choice in elections.
In a statement, delivered to reporters by the Presidency Spokesman, Nabil Abu Rdaina, President stressed on the transparency of elections and on respecting its outcome.
President Abbas appreciated the roles of international and Arab observers in monitoring the elections, the Chairman of the Central Elections Commission, Dr. Hana Nasser's and Security forces in maintaining order.
The statement asserted that the President, once he receives the official results of the elections, will take the necessary procedures to form a new government and to enable the Palestinian Legislative Council to assume responsibilities.
Abu Rdaina concluded that the President will deliver a speech after receiving the results of the elections.
