CEC Announces Palestine Preliminary Results
The CEC announces the preliminary results of the second PLC elections
The CEC announced that the polling process for yesterday`s PLC elections went smoothly and without major violations. The CEC has finalized all logistical and technical aspects of the polling process. The CEC received some minor complaints and addressed them immediately in accordance with the law.
The CEC thanked all polling staff, the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation on the early voting of the security forces issue, the Ministry of Education and its staff.
The CEC indicated that the number of voters reached 1,011,992. The total number of registered voters reached 1,332,396. The voting percentage reached 74.64%.
The total number of voters in all West Bank districts reached 582,471, i.e., 73.1%. The total number of voters in Gaza electoral districts reached 429,521, i.e., 76%. Rafah electoral district obtained the highest percentage of voting at 82.65%.
414 candidates competed for the 16 electoral districts and there were 11 electoral lists with 314 candidates competing nationwide.
