US NSA Selects RSA Security Encryption Software

MEDIA RELEASE

U.S. Department of Defense Agency Selects RSA Security Encryption Software

RSA BSAFE® Crypto-C Micro Edition Meets National Security Agency’s Suite B Cryptography Requirements

Sydney, March 29, 2006 – RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS) today announced that the National Security Agency selected RSA® BSAFE® Crypto-C Micro Edition (ME) encryption software for use in a classified communications project.

RSA BSAFE cryptographic tool kits such as RSA BSAFE Crypto-C ME are developed in Brisbane, Queensland by RSA Security’s Developer Solutions Group.

RSA BSAFE Crypto-C ME software meets the Suite B cryptography requirements issued by the National Security Agency (NSA). RSA Security believes that its ability to meet these requirements today, the company’s commitment to delivering Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)-validated versions of its products across a broad range of operating platforms, and its ability to meet the requirements of constrained and harsh environments were all critical to the National Security Agency’s selection of RSA BSAFE Crypto-C ME software.

Introduced at RSA Conference 2005, Suite B provides a common set of cryptographic algorithms that the technology industry may leverage to build solutions that meet the security needs of U.S. federal government organisations. In addition, Suite B cryptography requirements provide assurance that U.S. government agencies have access to technology solutions that are both secure and interoperable.
