IISS Announces 6th Annual Asian Security Summit, the Shangri-La Dialogue
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is pleased to announce that the 6th Annual Asian Security Summit, the Shangri-La Dialogue, will take place from 1 to 3 June 2007 in Singapore.
The Shangri-La Dialogue will involve 25 official government delegations led mainly by defence ministers, chiefs of defence staff, foreign ministers and other senior officials, who will convene with legislators, experts, academics and businesspeople from the Asia Pacific region and key outside powers.
The Shangri-La Dialogue remains the wider Asia-Pacific region´s only annual security summit for defence ministers and is both open and transparent. The summit will help to shape the inter-governmental debate on Asia-Pacific security and provide many opportunities for bilateral and multilateral meetings between delegation leaders.
This Summit will
be held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. Attendance
and participation is by invitation only and requires
advance police screening. Press invitations will be issued
at the end of
April.
