Emirates Chairman Congratulates Team on Becoming Challenger
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved in Emirates Team New Zealand on a fantastic performance in becoming the challenger for the America’s Cup. When the team approached us for sponsorship back in 2003, they said then that they were confident of their place as the challenger for the America’s Cup, they were not wrong.
“It is the focus, determination and professionalism of Emirates Team New Zealand that has made them such a formidable opponent; everyone at Emirates wishes them the best of luck against Alinghi.”
