Gordon Brown holds first Cabinet meeting
Gordon Brown has held his first Cabinet meeting following appointments made earlier today.
The Cabinet meeting, which convened at 14:00 BST, included newly appointed Chancellor Alastair Darling and Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
New faces in the Cabinet included James Purnell, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, and Ed Balls, Secretary of State for the newly created Department for Children, Schools and Families.
The PM's first Cabinet was announced today at approximately 13:00 BST.
