Woods Wins PGA Championship
World No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods has captured his 13th career major title and first of the year at the 89th PGA Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Woods began the final round ahead by three shots. While a number of players made mild attempts to close the gap, Woods held steady at the top of the leaderboard in sweltering heat.
He carded a one-under-par 69 to finish at eight-under-par 272. Woods appeared to tweak his left knee while celebrating a long putt on the eighth hole. It proved not to be a factor.
American Woody Austin finished two shots back. South African Ernie Els placed third, three shots back.
Woods is second all-time with major golf victories. Fellow American Jack Nicklaus has 18.
