FIFO Tahiti 2008: Deadline for entries October 15th 2007

The Pacific International Documentary Film Festival aims to become the most important documentary film event in the Pacific region. We invite all audiovisual professionals to come and share at the 5th edition of the Pacific International Documentary Festival (FIFO Tahiti) that will take place from 29 January to 03 February 2008 at the Maison de la Culture of Papeete (Tahiti – French Polynesia).

Any documentary that talks about the Pacific can be registered and participate.

An international jury comprising recognized film and television professionals will award during the next edition the Festival the Jury Grand Prize and three Special Jury Prizes; adding to the Audience Price. Each prize will be awarded with a financial amount.

Among the members of this jury, we already have the confirmation of:

* Laure Adler Renowned French writer Director of Editions du Seuil President of the Jury FIFO 2008

* Geoffrey B. Daniels Senior Deputy Chairman Production & Development National Geographic International Channels

* Jean-Jacques Garnier ; Cultural Attaché at the French Embassy in Australia

* David Jowsey Commissioning Editor ABC TV Documentaries

* Pierre Lescure Journalist Producer

* Richard Mann ; Deputy Regional Director of the Pacific Community

* Stéphane Martin ; President of Quai Branly Museum

* Emmanuel Priou ; Producer of Bonne Pioche

* Dan Salmon New Zealand Director Jury Grand Prize and Audience Prize FIFO

As a reminder, at the last Gala of the previous edition, FIFO 2007 awarded:

* The Jury Grand Prize for the New Zealand film « Made in Taiwan », directed by Dan Salmon and produced by Georges Andrews Production, with an amount of 4,200 Euros;

* The Jury Special Prize for the New Caledonian film « Tjibaou, le pardon » directed by Gilles Dagneau and produced by aaa, ADCK centre culturel Tjibaou and RFO, with an amount of 2,500 Euros;

* The Jury Special Prize for the Australian film « Mr. Patterns », directed by Catriona McKenzie and produced by Film Australia, with an amount of 2,500 euros;

* The Audience chose for the Audience Prize the film « Made in Taiwan », directed by Dan Salmon and produced by Georges Andews Production, with an amount of 2,500 Euros.
