Chairman Thompson To Host Red Cross Roundtable
Chairman Thompson to Host Red Cross Roundtable
In honor of National Preparedness Month the Committee on Homeland Security in collaboration with the American Red Cross will host a roundtable discussion on preparing for emergencies in our homes, businesses and schools.
The goal of the month is to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies and to encourage individuals to take action.
Throughout
September, a wide variety of organizations, including local,
state and federal government agencies and the private
sector, will band together to highlight the importance of
family emergency preparedness and promote individual
involvement through events and activities across the nation.
There will also be a National Preparedness Fair
to be held concurrently from 11am to 3pm in the Rayburn
Foyer. Both are open to the
press.
