US Pacific Command Commander Visits Singapore
The Commander of the United States Pacific Command (Commander PACOM), Admiral Timothy Keating, is visiting Singapore from 18 to 20 November 2007. Admiral Keating called on Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General Desmond Kuek this morning.
Admiral Keating's visit underscores the excellent bilateral defence relationship between the US and Singapore. The Singapore Armed Forces and US PACOM interact extensively through visits, bilateral and multilateral exercises, and professional exchanges.
These interactions have served to enhance interoperability between the two armed forces, as well as the professional rapport and mutual understanding between their personnel.
