Koli Calls For Dialogue Over Marau Row
Koli calls for dialogue over Marau row
The Member of Parliament for East Guadalcanal, Johnson Koli is calling for more dialogue between different people who claim the ownership over the Marau Airstrip land.
Mr Koli who is Minister of Health and Medical Services made the call today following a report that a dispute over the ownership of the Marau Airstrip land is brewing between the indigenous people of Guadalcanal and the Are Are speaking people of Marau.
Mr Koli encourages the people to continue with the dialogue so an amicable resolution can be reached.
He said the people of Visinoru should allow the airstrip to be re-opened so travelers can carry on as usual with their business travels between Honiara and Marau and vice versa while dialogue continues.
Mr Koli said business activities such as fisheries and tourism must be allowed to continue operating because they generate income for the people of Marau.
