FCO welcomes arrest of suspected war criminal
Jim Murphy, Minister for Europe, welcomed today's arrest of the suspected war criminal, Stojan Zupljanin, by Serbian authorities.
Jim Murphy said:
"This arrest is good news and the legal process can now take its course at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). Zupljanin is accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes during the conflict in former Yugoslavia in the 1990s and I am pleased that the Serbian authorities have made this arrest. I would urge them to redouble their efforts to locate the remaining indictees Ratko Mladic, Radovan Karadzic and Goran Hadzic."
