Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak meets with PM Gordon Brown
Defense Minister Ehud Barak met this morning with Britain's Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. At the meeting, DM Barak addressed several important issues.
The Palestinians: "In addition to negotiations, the economic development of the area administered by the Palestinian Authority is very important." Barak stressed the importance of building the foundations for government, law and effective enforcement of the law in the PA.
Iran: Barak told PM Brown that the economic sanctions against Iran should be tightened.
Lebanon: "Israel is monitoring (Lebanese) violations of UNSC Resolution 1701 and sees a danger in disturbing the delicate balance on the northern border."
