The Book Project Reaches 5 Continents

Press Release – 6th October 2008 (Immediate Release)

The Book Project Reaches 5 Continents

Aspiring writings from across the USA are the latest to join a major collaborative book project adding a fifth continent to the team of writers. The Americans will work on The Book along with writing teams in Africa, Asia, Australasia and Europe during 2009.

Following the launch of the project last month, writers from all over the world have come forward with applications to join the one year to complete a novel.

The collaborative writing team will take all the major decisions on genre, characters, plots and sub-plots etc. and sponsors AmazonClicks.com will manage the entire process.

Commenting on the latest influx of applications from the USA, AmazonClicks Director Peter Lihou says;

“It is fantastic to welcome our North American writers to the project and further broaden our gene pool of perspectives.

We have been delighted with the range and quality of applications from writers with varied backgrounds across the world. These have included a lady who worked in the ‘paddy fields’ of Asia, businessmen from Europe and a medical doctor from Southern Australia. Male and female, young and old, published and novice writers have all come forward from a variety of social backgrounds. We are bringing together people from around the world for one year with rich experience and aim to produce a work of literature worthy of such an effort.

This project is thought be the first of its kind and should attract significant media attention when the book is published following the conclusion of the writing project next year.”

All participants will share in the recognition as well as lifelong royalties from the book sales and any other income generated from the project.

AmazonClicks.com lists the major award winning books as well as its own monthly Reader’s and Author’s Choice Awards. These awards provide an opportunity for little known authors to compete alongside best sellers purely on the number of votes cast. The competition has attracted thousands of votes over the twelve weeks it has so far been running and valuable book sales for those authors nominated. As sponsors of The Book project, AmazonClicks will keep the project on track and ensure that a consistent style, however it emerges, is maintained throughout.

The project aims to produce a significant work of literature that encompasses the diverse experience of the writing team, it will take the form of a Novel but until the writers begin work in January 2009, no other details on the work can be revealed.

No final number of participants has been set for the project but the deadline for applications will be 1st December 2008 with those selected being informed later that month.

There is still time to apply and interested parties should contact Peter at thebook@amazonclicks.com with a 500 word submission on why they wish to take part in the project.
