URGENT - Israeli army endangering lives of European and American nationals in Gaza
Currently today (6th November), citizens of Britain, America and Italy are being fired upon in Khuza'a, close to Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, who are partaking in the picking of olives on Palestinian land close to the Green Line. The group is on foot and one American citizen is driving a tractor.
Soldiers from two Israeli jeeps and from an Israeli watchtower have just opened fire on the internationals. The international Human Rights Workers have reported that the shots are getting increasingly closer and are endangering their lives.
Internationals currently living in the Gaza Strip have recently been accompanying Palestinian farmers to harvest their lands close to the Green Line.
The Israeli forces have been contacted and informed about the location of the unarmed internationals. They have been requested to cease fire immediately.
The
International Solidarity Movement (ISM) is a Palestinian-led
non-violent resistance movement committed to ending Israel's
illegal occupation of Palestinian land. We call for full
compliance with all relevant UN resolutions and
international
law.
