BACKGROUND:
A ramp ceremony is to occur to honour the arrival home of Private Greg Sher at Tullaramine Airport on Friday.
Minister for Defence, the Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon MP; Shadow Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, the Hon. Bob Baldwin MP (representing the Shadow Minister for Defence); Member for Melbourne Ports, Mr Michael Danby MP; Acting Chief of the Defence Force, Lieutenant General David Hurley; Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie; Special Operations Commander Australia, Major General Tim McOwan; and Commanding Officer 1st Commando Regiment, Lieutentant Colonel Vance Khan will be in attendance.
At the request of the family and due to the protected identity status of the personnel involved in this ceremony, media will not be invited to participate in this solemn event.
