USA: Human Rights Bush Style

USA: Human Rights Bush Style

There are doubts in a number of countries, embassies and mass media worldwide: Who drafted, revised and approved the recent report of the US State Department on the "human rights situation in the world", under the new US administration?

Miss Condoleezza Rice does not head the Secretariat (Ministry) any more. However, the Bush style (Bush, the most unpopular president in the history of the US), characterized by its arbitrary foreign policy is present as though this republican figure had never left the White House.

What stands out is the judges, that no one ever elected, who accuse and judge close to 200 countries and regions while they ignore their own local swamp from which it issues its own verdict.

Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, China, Argentina and Mexico, among other nations, are victims of the diatribes of the northern power, with gross false manipulations, to continue the policy of blackmail.

This attack provokes legitimate protests by governments that do not accept the customary interference from a country whose new government must understand that the world is changing: threats are not enough to achieve servility.

Cuba has just received huge support from the UN Human Rights Council where experts evaluated the main indicators and applauded institutions and the government for sustained advances, recognized as extraordinary in health care and education.

Paradoxically, the US government -excluded from the Council-, has been able to deny the truth that speakers from over 20 countries praised in Geneva regarding the Cuban advances. These are shared with other nations through scientific-technical, health and educational cooperation, among others, and recognized publicly.

In the United States, elemental rights continue being daily tragedies: racism, insecurity, lack of health care, hospitals and education for over 50 million people, arbitrary repression, torture, arbitrary trials, economic crises, swindles, corruption...

How is it possible for a nation to boast about human rights, when its criminal population, exponents of the hostile environment that prevails in its 50 states, is over 2 million people? There, to try to live is the goal for the great majority of its inhabitants, and the industry of
mercenaries in the wars of aggression is a job option for the poor young people?

The protection for terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles, Orlando Bosch and dozens of other assassins, continues in southern Florida with the approval of state and federal administrations.

The expectations of change seem to have cooled off faced with the reiterated and unfounded denunciations without moral basis. Their obvious objective is interference and the blackmail of other nations. This is too similar to the arrogant Bush style that the US people themselves, and the entire world, rejected.
