Parents Of Tristan Anderson, Critically Injured By Israeli Forces In The West Bank, Will Hold A Press Conference On 23 March
Monday, 23 March 2009: Parents of Tristan Anderson, American citizen critically injured by Israeli forces in West Bank village of Ni'lin, to give press conference in Jerusalem.
Following a recent deterioration in Anderson's medical condition, Nancy and Michael Anderson will give their first statement to the press regarding their son's injury during a demonstration in the West Bank village of Ni'lin. The Anderson's lawyer, Michael Sfard, will also be taking questions.
Tristan Anderson, 38, was injured on 13 March 2009 when Israeli forces shot him in the head with a newly introduced high-velocity tear gas projectile. Anderson is currently being hospitalized in Tel Hashomer hospital, near Tel Aviv, and is still in critical condition. The heavy impact from the tear gas projectile, which was shot directly at him, from about 60 meters, caused multiple condensed fractures to his skull, as well as extensive damage to his brain and right eye, which he may lose. Tristan has already undergone three brain surgeries, in which part of his right frontal lobe and shattered bone fragments were removed.
'Tristan Anderson's condition remains life-threatening.
