Protest Rally at Iranian Embassy [Wellington]
Protest Rally at Iranian Embassy
NZ unions affiliated to the International Transport Workers Federation held a protest rally outside the Iranian Embassy in Wellington today. This rally was in protest of the appalling workers rights in Iran where workers and union leaders are jailed and on death row for exercising rights that we, here in NZ, take for granted. "Workers rights are basic human rights, clearly this is not recognised in Iran" says Todd Valster RMTU Organiser.
The rally was the first for today's Global Solidarity day of action for "justice for Iranian workers". Rallying unionist expressed strong protest and sang songs of solidarity for the Iranian workers which was filmed and is available on www.justiceforiranianworkers.org
