Clinton Responds to Deadly Attack in Kabul
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of
State
Islamabad, Pakistan
October 28, 2009
I
strongly condemn the cowardly attack today in Afghanistan.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those who were injured
and the families who lost loved ones. One American citizen
working for the United Nations was among those who lost
their lives, along with other UN international employees and
members of the Afghan National Security Forces who bravely
fought to protect them.
More than twenty Americans have
died in recent days and we honor their service and
sacrifice, and our hearts go out to their
families.
The United States remains steadfast in its
support for the United Nations and its vital work to help
the Afghan people build a better future. We remain firm in
our commitment to Afghanistan and the Afghan people and to
working with the Afghans to conclude their Presidential
election
process.
