EU Clinching Deal on Climate Financing

The EU Heads of State and Government meeting on 30 October agreed on a number of important measures including on climate financing in preparation for the Copenhagen Summit, the continued implementation of economic stimulus measures with a strong focus on jobs and an EU 2020 strategy.

In response to the successful outcome of the meetings, José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission said "this was an important breakthrough, which brings new momentum. We need to put our money where our mouth is."
