NZUS Council Understands Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton’s Decision
The NZ US Council understands and supports the decision of United States Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, to postpone her visit to New Zealand and focus on the crisis in Haiti.
“We are obviously disappointed Secretary Clinton will not be visiting New Zealand on Friday. However, this disappointment is far outweighed by the sympathy we feel for those facing tragic loss of life and destruction in Haiti,” said NZ US Council Executive Director Stephen Jacobi.
“We understand that Secretary Clinton has global responsibilities, and the people of Haiti need her and her country’s support at this difficult time.”
“We look forward to Secretary Clinton rescheduling her visit to New Zealand for a later date.”
