AWPA calls for support for Vanuatu’s motion
The Australia West Papua Association congratulations the Vanuatu Government, Opposition and the people of Vanuatu for their courageous support for the people of West Papua in their struggle for self-determination.
Andrew Johnson of AWPA said “we are now calling on other countries to follow Vanuatu's example and we urge other nations to support the Vanuatu’s Government’s motion” (below).
The Vanuatu Parliament has voted in support of a motion to transmit an agenda item to the UN Secretary General for this year's General Assembly to request the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to give it's legal opinion on the "New York Agreement".
