14th Golden Shears World Championships, July 2010
The 14th Golden Shears World Shearing and Woolhandling Championships will be held during the Royal Welsh Show, at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, on July 19-22, with shearing sports competition on all four days, including the annual Royal Welsh Championships (with several New Zealanders, including non team members competiting)
New Zealand has a team of six for the World Championships which will be held entirely on Tuesday July 20 and Wednesday July 21 (UK time). There are two machine shearers, two woolhandlers, and two blade shearers.
The 14th Golden Shears World Shearing Championships have attracted entries from 28 countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Falkland Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lesotho, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, USA, Wales.
