Hindus Want “Net Neutrality” Preserved

Hindus have stressed the need of preserving “net neutrality”.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that openness, freedom, and level playing field of internet should be maintained.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, argued that every citizen of the world should have access to high speed internet, and corporate greed should not be allowed to govern it. Access to the internet should be a fundamental right as it played a significant role in everyday life

Rajan Zed applauded Finland for making broadband a legal right for its citizens and for pledging to connect everybody with a 100Mbps connection by 2015.

Zed urged other religious leaders of the world, including His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, to wholeheartedly support the causes of “net neutrality” and internet access as fundamental right.
