Congresswoman shot in Arizona 08 Jan 2011A Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona was shot and wounded at an event Saturday at a supermarket in Tucson, according to news reports. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was among as many as 12 people wounded in the shooting, according to early reports. According to reports Giffords was shot in the head at point-blank range by a lone gunman who ran up and began firing. Giffords was taken to University Medical Center in Tucson.
