His Majesty
King George Tupou V will depart Tonga on Tuesday
1st
March for a visit to Los Angeles. The pu{pose of the
visit is to
explore possible educational and development
opportunities that
could bring future benefits to the
Kingdom of Tonga.
Hon. Dr. 'Ana Maui Taufe'ulungaki, the
Minister of Education, Women Affairs, and
Culture will
accompany the Royal party as Minister-in-Waiting.
His
Majesty will return to Tonga on lfth March.
His Majesty
has decided that there will not be a Regent
appointed
during his absence as the new Constitutional
arrangements make such an
appointment
unnecessary.
