20 Candidates To Contest By-Elections
A total of twenty candidates will contest the upcoming By-Elections for Baegu-Asifola and Shortland Islands Constituencies on the 30th of this month.
The Solomon Islands Electoral
Commission has received 20 valid nomination forms at the
close of nominations today.
Candidates are given three
days to withdraw their candidacy at the close of
nominations.
Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Polycarp Haununu, said according to the legal time schedule, Wednesday 2 March is the last day for submission of any nomination forms with complete fees of $2000.
Six nominations have been confirmed for the Shortlands while Baegu-Asifola has 14 nominations
