Brisbane Fundraiser for Christchurch
Here is some information regarding a fund raising effort in
Brisbane for the
Canterbury Earthquake.
There will be a Duelling Pianos Marathon led by Jevon Clark (ex Christchurch) at Greenbank RSL Brisbane for the earthquake.
A core of six piano bar players (many have played internationally) plus guests will play a continuous programme of rock'n roll and pop requests for 12 hours. Jevon went to school in Christchurch and studied at the CPIT Jazz School before he embarked on a successful international career as a piano bar performer.
They are hopeful of raising a good sum of money while providing an opportunity for Kiwis to get together.
" I was appalled to see the pictures of the devastation in Christchurch. We saw more of the damage than my parents, who at that stage had no power or water, and here we were safe in Brisbane watching TV." said Jevon. "I think a lot about my friends and fellow musicians, Christchurch is constantly is our thoughts."
