Indonesia Could Lift Media Restrictions In Papua
The Indonesian government says it will consider lifting restrictions banning journalists from the troubled province of Papua.
Karon Snowdon reports Indonesia's poorly developed western province of Papua is rich in natural resources but is the country's poorest.
Papuans complain of human rights abuses by security forces, corruption, inadequate development and a flood of internal migrants.
It's largely off limits to the international and domestic media.
Vice President Boediono will head a review into conditions in Papua including media restrictions.
