'Nano Korea 2011' to be Held in South Korea from August 24-26

Seoul, South Korea, August 1, 2011 - Nano Korea 2011 (9th International Nanotech Symposium & Nano Convergence EXPO, www.nanokorea.or.kr), South Korea's comprehensive nano convergence and new technology trade show, will be held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do from August 24 to 26.

The theme of this year will be, 'Nanotechnology, a bridge to global happiness.' The event is forecasted to serve as an important opportunity for productive exchange and cooperation for research and industrial sectors where participants can see firsthand and discuss nanotechnology trends and pursue technology convergence business.

In particular, this year's event will be larger in scale than the previous year. To further enhance technological exchange with other industries and with a view to advance as an international arena for showcasing new technologies, '2nd Laser Technology Exhibition', a special exhibition of '4th International Micro/MEMS Exhibition & Conference', will be held as a main exhibition. In addition, 'Advanced Ceramics Exhibition' will be held as a special exhibition.

At the same time, '9th International Nanotech Exhibition' and 'Printed Electronics Tech & Industry Expo' will be held in conjunction. As such, a total of 5 exhibitions with over 300 exhibitors from 10 countries occupying about 550 booths are expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors from the world.

Taking place simultaneously will be the '9th International Nanotech Symposium', which will feature 56 presentations by industry experts from 11 countries including 2010 Nobel Laureate (Physics) and Univ. of Manchester professor Konstantin Novoselov, and President Kim Dong-Seop of SK Innovation.

An insider said, "Nano Korea 2011 is being recognized as a world-class event functioning as a bridge between research and commercial sectors where participants from various industries of South Korea and the world exchange nanotechnology information. It is recording growth by more than 30% annually."

For Nano Korea 2011, top South Korean companies such as Samsung, Cheil Industries, LG, Hanwha, Hyosung and Kumho Petrochemical will showcase their technological prowess. Research organizations and institutes will also present and share their research outcomes.
