Current Events Makes "Pepper Spray" eBook A Hot Item

Online Retailer Reluctant To Carry eBook but Current Events Makes "Pepper Spray" eBook A Hot Item

Vancouver, November 28, 2011 - "Pepper Spray" by Ivana Murleau is the new $0.99 eBook that pokes fun at Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly's comment about pepper spray (used by police) as a food product.

The comment came when, last week, the University of California Davis called in the Police to remove protesters from their campus. A video went viral showing the police spraying pepper spray on peaceful demonstrators.

Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly has her own personal spin that pepper spray "is a food product, essentially".

Ivana Murleau, who saw runaway success with her first ebook “The Best of Drunk Texter”, wants to support Ms. Kelly's claim in her new eBook. "She's 100% correct" says Ivana Murleau "My pepper spray has a helpful Chili recipe right on the can!" The eBook applies Fox/Ms. Kelly's unique conservative spin to other current event news issues to create a humorous ebook for all to enjoy.

Walmart was not amused and declined to offer pre-loaded eReaders that carried the eBook. This came on the heels of incident at Walmart where a woman who may have pepper-sprayed Walmart shoppers over an Xbox purchase.

Barnes & Noble (Nook division) allowed the book's publication on their site. However, Amazon.com reluctantly released the eBook but not until "key changes" were made to the eBook.

The eBook is published by Canadian Publisher Open Mic Press. "Pepper Spray has become a hot topic these days (pardon the pun) and it's general use is in question," says spokesperson Robert Christofle.

Open Mic Press is an ebook publisher with a focus on promoting comics, joke books and general humor publications.
