Gush Shalom: The Rampaging Golem Was Created During 44 Years Of Occupation

When soldiers faced Palestinian demonstrators at Nebi Salah last Friday, they shot and killed. When they faced rampaging settlers, there was not even a single arrest.

For 44 years the IDF has pampered the settlers and enabled them to mistreat the Palestinians. Now, the Golem has turned on its creator. These are not 'A handful of extremists'. It is the occupation regime itself, created by successive Israeli governments, and the settlement enterprise which is at the very heart of the occupation. If Israel does not end the occupation, the occupation will destroy us all.
