WTO and OECD to Develop Statistics on trade in Value Added

WTO AND OECD TO DEVELOP STATISTICS ON TRADE IN VALUE ADDED

The WTO and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have signed a letter of understanding to develop statistics on trade in value added. Among other things, the two organizations will produce a publicly-available database of trade flows estimated in value-added terms.

CHAIRMAN OF INDUSTRIAL GOODS NEGOTIATION WILL EXPLORE NEW IDEAS FOR MOVING FORWARD ON TARIFF DISCUSSIONS

The Negotiating Group on Market Access for Non-Agricultural products resumed the negotiation on tariffs after four years of work on non-tariff barriers, and the chairman, ambassador Luzius Wasescha, of Switzerland, said he would continue consultations with Members in small groups to design a way forward for the negotiation.

L’OMC ET L’OCDE VONT COMPILER DES STATISTIQUES SUR LE COMMERCE EN VALEUR AJOUTÉE

L’OMC et l’Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques (OCDE) ont signé un Mémorandum d’accord concernant la compilation de statistiques sur le commerce en valeur ajoutée. Entre autres choses, les deux organisations tiendront une base de données des flux commerciaux estimés en termes de valeur ajoutée. Cette base sera accessible au public.

LE PRÉSIDENT DU GROUPE DE NÉGOCIATION SUR LES PRODUITS INDUSTRIELS ÉTUDIE DE NOUVELLES PISTES POUR FAIRE AVANCER LES DISCUSSIONS SUR LES DROITS DE DOUANE

Le Groupe de négociation sur l’accès aux marchés pour les produits non agricoles a repris les négociations sur les droits de douane après quatre ans de travaux consacrés aux obstacles non tarifaires. Son Président, l’Ambassadeur Luzius Wasescha (Suisse), a indiqué qu’il continuerait à tenir des consultations en petits groupes avec les Membres en vue de définir la voie à suivre.

LA OMC Y LA OCDE ELABORARÁN ESTADÍSTICAS SOBRE EL COMERCIO MEDIDO EN FUNCIÓN DEL VALOR AÑADIDO

La OMC y la Organización de Cooperación y Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE) han firmado un memorándum de entendimiento para elaborar estadísticas sobre el comercio medido en función del valor añadido. Entre otras cosas, las dos organizaciones crearán una base de datos a disposición del público sobre las corrientes comerciales cuantificadas en función del valor añadido.

EL PRESIDENTE DEL GRUPO DE NEGOCIACIÓN SOBRE BIENES INDUSTRIALES ANALIZARÁ NUEVAS IDEAS PARA AVANZAR EN LAS CONVERSACIONES SOBRE LOS ARANCELES

El Grupo de Negociación sobre el Acceso a los Mercados para los productos no agrícolas reanudó las negociaciones sobre aranceles tras cuatro años de labores centradas en los obstáculos no arancelarios, y su Presidente, Luzius Wasescha (Embajador de Suiza), señaló que seguiría manteniendo consultas en pequeños grupos con los Miembros para definir la manera de avanzar en las negociaciones.
