NEW INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY TALKS CHAIR TO CONSULT ON FUTURE STEPS
The newly-elected chairperson of the negotiations on a multilateral register for geographical indications for wines and spirits told delegations on 23 March 2012 he will consult them on how to proceed under new instructions from WTO ministers.

WTO ADOPTS BOEING REPORTS
On 23 March 2012, the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) adopted the panel and Appellate Body reports which examined United States’ subsidies to its civil aircraft industry. It elected Ambassador Shahid Bashir of Pakistan as the new chair of the DSB for a one-year term.
