Ghussein: Our Borders With Egypt Are Strictly
Monitored
The spokesman of the Gaza Interior Ministry Ihab Ghussein affirmed that the Palestinian security services work strictly towards preserving the borders between Rafah in the south and Egypt.
Ghussein said in a statement to Quds Press on Saturday, "The instructions of the Government and the Interior Minister on this issue are clear. Besides, we continuously protect our borders with Egypt because this is a basic part of our work."
He pointed out that the
security services are working as well to accurately monitor
the tunnels , and that there are instructions permitting the
entrance of all essential commodities that the Gaza Strip
needs but prevent entry of citizens to or from Egypt,
according to government regulations. "
Ghussein also
denied any activity of the security services in Sinai or the
Egyptian territories, asserting that "our activity is
limited within the Palestinian borders, and working in the
Sinai is not our mission. Yet we consider that protecting
our borders ensures both our security and the Sinai
security."
Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh declared more than once, the Palestinian security services' willingness to contribute in the maintenance of the Egyptian national security on their common borders.
Israel accuses
the Palestinian resistance of infiltrating into Sinai in
order to attack Israeli targets.
