Hunger Striker Halahla Vomits Blood
Hunger striker Thaer Halahla has started to vomit blood after 49 days of a hunger strike in an Israeli occupation jail, his father told Quds Press on Sunday.
He said that his son, who is held in Ramle prison hospital, could not move and the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) was banning visits to him, whether family or lawyers’ visits.
His father said that a lawyer managed to see him on Thursday and reported that he was throwing up blood from his mouth and nose. The lawyer also said that Thaer was having difficulty in speaking, and that he was suffering medical neglect on the part of the hospital administration.
The father said that the IOA has renewed his son’s detention eight times since his arrest in 2010 on the pretext of secret files.
He recalled that Thaer was arrested in 2010 only two weeks after his marriage, and has only once seen his daughter, born while he was in captivity, and then only from behind a glass barrier.
