Message from Prisoner Mahmoud Eisa from Solitary Confinement
"To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged; and verily, Allah is most powerful in their aid." Alhaj verse.
We have taken a decision and planned to continue our strike and the battle which was imposed on us, which will lead us to a way out. We have not been alive over the past days, but have experienced death every moment. To those who do not know about the situation, we say this:
The jailer repeated his old motto "You have to eat and sleep in the prison." The Israeli Prison Service deprived us of sleeping, and they have served us food which we hate. Regarding sleeping, we sleep hardly for moments, during which we wake up. We try to sleep at night as screams of jailers, the mentally ill and fools sound in the background. The jailers also bang on the doors and aim their powerful flashlights at us, in case we succeed in stealing a moment’s sleep. Let alone slamming doors and windows open and shut. All illegal procedures were tried with prisoners, there is nothing left.
We have been prevented from family visits to the point where one cannot imagine the faces and remember the wrinkles of loved ones. We have been prevented from buying goods from the canteen, and access to education and books. The Israeli Prison Service confiscated the diaries of prisoners. Prisoners have been disturbed during prayers by noise and loud music which deafens our ears. Imagine! We have been prevented from talking to each other and calling for prayer. Every time a prisoner calls upon another inmate, jailers reply " Speaking is not allowed."
I wrote a satirical poem. I will read some of it:
One day, the jailer came.
control
He tells me about the law of the tongue
We are not allowed to talk and pronounce
You disturb the neighborWe look around and there is neither a man nor a fairy
from your voice's echo Said walls could harm
Do not you know that the walls have ears
The cockroaches and the rats could be frightened
Are you happy to violate animals' rights
Believe me I don’t dream and know neither delirium nor intoxication . Once the head of the prison and the director of the region visited me asking me if there were any problems. I answered, “I want you to allow the air to reach the prison.” Then the head went to the window shut with iron and found a few small holes and said the air can enter from here. The head of the prison said that we must be in a safe.
After all of that, prisoners vow that they will not give up until we achieve our demands
Your brother prisoner
Mahmoud Eisa
