Qatari Fuel Shipment
Qatari Fuel Shipment
The Gaza Power and Natural Resources Authority expresses surprise at the continued delay of the entry of the Qatari fuel shipment to Gaza Strip, which was expected on Sunday.
The Power Authority considers it confirmation of deliberate procrastination by the Egyptian authorities, and clear Israeli intransigence to punish the Palestinian People, with the Israeli Occupation and the Egyptian parties taking turns to suffocate the Palestinian people and continue the siege on the Gaza Strip.
The Power Authority wonders who the beneficiaries are of the deprivation of the Palestinian people of the generous Arab donation to alleviate the continuous suffering of Gaza. They inform that the Power Authority has done its best and completed all the necessary procedures to receive the Qatari fuel shipment, which has now been in the Port of Suez for a month and half. It was agreed more than once with the Egyptian fuel agency to send the shipment immediately, but this still has not been implemented.
The Gaza Power and Natural Resources Authority warns of the consequences of delaying the Qatari fuel shipment, and the catastrophic effects if the electricity crisis continues into summer.
The Power Authority calls upon all parties concerned to take immediate action to remove all obstacles preventing the fuel from entering, and to refuse to allow the blackmail of the Palestinian people by pressuring them through humanitarian means. All areas of Gazan life are in dire need of this shipment, which will operate the electricity station during summer.
