Civil Defense: Our crews always ready according to contingency plan

Gaza Ministry of Interior
24/6/2012

Civil Defence confirmed that its crews are always ready to deal with the continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip according to the prepared contingency plan.

Colonel Said Al Saudi, vice-chairman of civil defense, appealed in a statement all citizens to stay away from places of targeting, to enable the civil defense’s crews to complete their work easily, and to preserve the safety of citizens from any remnants of the Israeli missiles.

Al-Saudi said: “the Israeli occupation is using internationally banned weapons, and pay no attention to international agreements, through the use of poisonous weapons in targeting the unarmed citizens.”

Therefore, he called all citizens to phone toll-free number of the Civil Defense 102 in any case of Israeli bombing.

Civil defense successfully extinguished on Friday night a fire that broke out as a result of Israeli targeting of the government’s Al-Saraya compound in central Gaza.

Moreover, firemen extinguished the fire caused by a series of Israeli raids that targeted several areas in the Gaza Strip.

The Directorate General of Civil Defence has declared a state of emergency among its crews since last Wednesday due to the continuous Israeli escalation on the Gaza Strip.
