RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Palestinian detained MP in the occupation jails, Jamal Tirawi, warned of a Zionist measures to separate Palestinian prisoners on the basis of their factional affiliations in an attempt to weaken the captive movement, and stopping the implementation of the agreement reached after the prisoners’ strike.
MP Tirawi said in a letter he sent from Megiddo prison through PPS’s lawyer, Jawad Boulos that the prison administration started recently planning to separate the prisoners on the basis of their factional affiliations, specifically in the Northern prisons, noting that this procedure will inevitably hurt the captive movement and its steadfastness.
He called all the leaders of the different factions to intervene immediately in order to put an end to such measures to preserve what he called “the detainees’ unity”, stressing on the need to “keep the issue of the detained MPs and leaders of the political factions at the forefront of the concerns of the Palestinian leaders and human rights organizations operating in this field.”
Concerning the prison administration commitment to the implementation of the prisoners’ demands, the MP revealed that there has been no improvement in the living standards, yet some have been seriously deteriorating, pointing to the repeated searches and lack of proper food.
