Debra Cerasa Appointed New CEO of Multiple Sclerosis Australia

The Board of Multiple Sclerosis Australia is happy to announce that experienced health executive Debra Cerasa has been appointed to the new role of Chief Executive Officer of the organisation.

Multiple Sclerosis Australia President Rob Hubbard said the new role was about creating a national voice for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) throughout the country.

“Multiple Sclerosis Australia’s role is to advocate for people with MS at the highest levels of government and be a voice for their issues in the community,” he said.

“I’m confident that Debra’s experience put her in good stead to be a powerful champion for our movement.”

Debra brings a wealth of experience from senior executive roles in the health sector to this new position. Most recently, she was Chief Executive Officer of Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA).

“What a privilege it is to have been offered this opportunity to work with such a well-regarded organisation,” Ms Cerasa said.

“The work that has been done around the states and territories by an extraordinary team of, staff, advocates and volunteers must be acknowledged and I look forward to joining the team.”

As CEO, Debra will lead the organisation’s response to and readiness for the exciting prospect of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and work to raise the public awareness of issues facing people with MS every day.
