UN Expert On Sudan To Conduct Third Khartoum Mission
The UN Independent Expert On the Situation of Human Rights In Sudan to Conduct His Third Mission to Khartoum
GENEVA (13 June 2013) – The Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in the Sudan, Mashood Adebayo Baderin, will conduct his third visit to the Sudan from 15 to 20 June 2013, to identify areas of technical assistance and capacity building which will help the country fulfil its human rights obligations.
During his seven-day mission, Mr Baderin, will travel to Khartoum, Darfur, North Kordofan and Blue Nile states, where he will meet with Government officials, civil society actors, humanitarian organisations and UN agencies.
At the conclusion of his visit on Thursday 20 June, the Independent Expert will hold a press conference at the UN Office in Khartoum.
Mr. Baderin will present his findings and recommendations in a comprehensive report to the UN Human Rights Council in September 2013.
