Health of Detainee Halahle Worsening
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Israeli prison service transferred detainee Thaer Halahle from Ofer jail to Ramle prison clinic after deterioration of his health condition.
The Palestinian prisoner’s society said that Halahle, who is suffering liver virus infection with no proper treatment accorded to him, was transferred after his condition worsened.
It recalled that Halhale was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces a number of times before and in the last one he went on 77 days of hunger strike before he was released. However, the IOF arrested him anew last April.
Meanwhile, relatives of detainee Ayman Etbaish, who has been on hunger strike since 23rd May and who is from Dura south of Al-Khalil, called for bigger attention to the issue of prisoners.
They told the PIC that support for prisoners in general and those on hunger strike in particular had dwindled.
They appealed to media outlets and concerned institutions to expose the Israeli occupation authority’s practices and to support prisoners so as to boost their morale.
Ayman and his brother Mohammed are both on hunger strike and are held in Ramle prison but in different rooms as the IOA refuses to hold them together.
