Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
by Julie Webb-Pullman
Israel carried out at least seven air strikes in Gaza on Tuesday evening, destroying two poultry farms and killing some 4000 chickens near Khan Younes.
Strikes were also conducted in the north and south of Gaza, with no reports of casualties to date.
The cynical attacks during the anniversary of last year's military offensive "Operation Pillar of Cloud" and in the midst of a power, sanitation and medicine crisis created by the siege, closure of the tunnels from Egypt, and failure to provide fuel and pharmaceutical supplies, represent an escalation in Israeli-Egyptian-Palestinian Authority attempts at regime change in the Gaza Strip.
Gaza sources said that Israeli military radio reported that it "still has many targets on the list," leaving Gazans fearful of further attacks.
