The State Border Service of
Ukraine controls the situation with the state border
completely. The First Deputy head of the State Border
Service Pavlo Shysholin informed during a briefing at the
House of Government.
According to him, the state border
is protected despite the military aggression. Throughout the
period of confrontations no subdivision of the State Border
Service has left the place of service.
“We fulfill the tasks at gun point and totally protect the frontier in this direction. We are working in coordination with the Security Service and MIA subdivisions,” he stressed.
Thereby Pavlo Shysholin informed that the Russian armed units had blocked 8 subdivisions of the State Border Service of Ukraine, though their work never stops. “We were first to face the attack of the aggressor. In the first days the borderguards had to act in challenging combat circumstances. Nowadays 8 subdivisions of the State Border Service are being blocked by the armed units of other country. But everyone continues to perform the duties from other deployment spots, from other reserve control points,” the first deputy head of the State Border Service said.
In particular, the two maritime security units – Sevastopol and Kerch – have been redeployed to Odessa and Berdyansk respectively and continue to protect the sea frontier of the country.
“The state border will be protected by the borderguards of Ukraine, but not any other unidentified military formations. We will be devoted to the oath and fulfill our duty in full,” Pavlo Shysholin assured.
Moreover, he stressed the statements concerning supposedly mass entering by buses with extremists were groundless and far from the truth. “Presently, the flow of transport means and persons is controlled fully on the Ukrainian-Russian state border. This flow has been cut by almost one-half. During recent 24-hours 26 thousand persons have been let through the whole section of Ukrainian-Russian border,” Pavlo Shysholin announced. At this, he added that ensuring safety of the citizens the frontiersmen were working on non-admittance of provokers from Russia who incited the Ukrainian society in the eastern regions.
P. Shysholin emphasized certain cases of so-called marauding were fixed and the borderguards were subjected to fierce pressure as well.
